If you’ve windowed shopped through any mobile OS’s respective app store, then you’re probably aware that games tend to rip each other off. Some developers even make it their primary business model (*cough*Gameloft*cough*). But the minds behind the release of Pyramid Run, Magic Bone, don’t even try to deny their source inspiration.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock this past year, you may have heard of this year’s “Angry Bird-hit;” Temple Run. After making its way to Android, the game has reached a whopping 50 million downloads and even spawned a spin-off. Like B-movie copy cats, Pyramid Run looks to cash in on the hype and has redressed the setting in ancient Egypt’s pyramids. Placed side by side, the game looks identical at a glance. Even the game’s Google Play banner is a complete copy.
Like Temple Run, Pyramid Run has you escaping from monsters all the while collecting coins. It seems the game was hastily ported from iOS as its features allows you to “Compete with your friends on the Game Center leaderboard!”.
If you’re looking for a poor man’s copy of Temple Run, then you can look no further than Pyramid Run.
