After living on iOS for what seemed like ages, Activisions multi-million franchise is finally making its way to Android, courtesy of Glu. Currently a Xperia Play exclusive, the game will be available for most devices after 30 days. So while the rest of us will need to be a bit more patient to get our undead fix, Xperia Play gamers can get to zombie smashing today.
Fan favorite maps, Kino Der Toten, Ascension, and Call of the Dead: Director’s cut will be making an appearance in this version. Better yet, another favorite feature, “Dead-Ops Arcade” will also be include with all 50 levels.This feature should already be familiar to mobile gamers: a top down shooter similar to another Glu title, Gun Bros.
Going solo is great, but what’s a better way to annihilate the walking dead than with a team of friends? Thankfully Black Ops zombies allows for up to 4 players via Wi-Fi for some co-op gameplay.
Going mobile means in-app purchases,and depending on your stance, makes it either a welcome addition or a major turn off . Dubbed as “CoD Points” this monetary system is broken into a six tiers, ranging from additional weapons, stages. and power ups such revives and perks.
While we still have 30 more days of waiting, it’s great to see Activision finally marching the dead to Android. Call of Duty Black Ops: Zombies retails for $6.99 on Google Play.
